We are a fun-loving group and welcome players to be members of a set group or as substitutes. We play bridge on the second Wednesday of the month from September through May starting at 9:15 at the Lapham Community Center.

  Let’s lace up our athletic shoes, get outside and enjoy a 2-3 miles walk together. Walking is a great way to socialize, stay active, and boost your mood — all at the same time.

   Walks are planned weekly on Wednesdays (weather permitting). Please park in the upper (non-gravel) parking lot. The park’s paved Flexi-Pave trail is gentle on the joints and perfect for conversation and exercise.  No registration necessary.

  EATS (The Eating and Tasting Society) is a fun, diverse group of 36 ladies, divided into 3 groups.  Each group gets together every three months, to plan and prepare a lunch for all the members.  Luncheons are usually held at Lapham Community Center.  Recipes are emailed to members and discussed at the luncheon.  There are 9 luncheons each year on the second Thursday of each month (except December, July and August).

  • Join us for a night of pottery painting, appetizers, and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) … in your PJs, sweatpants or other super comfy clothes.

    You get the picture! Just a super casual, fun ladies’ night out. Think Bunco… but with paintbrushes instead of dice - and no competition (or prizes)!

    This is a great pre-holiday opportunity to make a special gift for your daughter, granddaughter, other family member, friend or yourself!

  • When: Thursday, November 13^th, 2025 (5:45pm – 8:00pm)
  • Where: Lucky Penny Pottery, 1012 Hope Street, Stamford (12 minutes from downtown NC)
  • Parking: Parking lot directly behind Lucky Penny (or on the street)

  o   Note: We will not be coordinating a carpool for this local event. However, feel free to drive with friends or ask the event coordinator for a ride.

  • Cost:  Cost of the pottery piece you choose to paint (most range from $18-$40, depending on size), plus $12 studio fee. Payable directly to Lucky Penny Pottery the evening of the event.

   How Does It Work?
  o   Come for a night of fun!
  o   Choose a pottery piece to paint.
  

  A wide variety of pieces will be available, from mugs, plates, and bowls to decorative home items, seasonal holiday pieces, and fun, kid-friendly options like figurines, banks, and keepsakes.

  o   Listen to simple tips from our Lucky Penny Pottery expert. She will be with us all night to guide and inspire us!
  o   Paint your pottery!
  o   After we leave, the staff will apply a clear glaze (shiny and food-safe) and fire our pieces in a kiln.
  o   7-10 days later: Our bright, glossy finished pieces will be ready for pick-up at a convenient New Canaan location (TBA).

The film was widely seen as a fitting swan song celebrating Redford’s legacy of charismatic, rebellious characters. The story unfolds with a nostalgic tone, blending suspense with warmth and reflecting on aging, freedom and the thrill of living on one’s own terms.   A House of Dynamite (2025): A political thriller centered on the terrifying 18 minutes following the launch of an unidentified nuclear missile aimed at Chicago.
