If you enjoy seeing movies and love an opportunity to discuss the movies with other movie enthusiasts, then you should consider joining Critics Corner. The next Critics Corner will be a Zoom meeting on Friday, March 26th, at 7:00PM. We will discuss and rate the following movies:
The Life Ahead – (Available on Netflix) Madam Rosa (Sophia Loren) is a former prostitute and Holocaust survivor who provides childcare for the children of other "working women" in the port city of Bari, Italy. After Momo, a 12-year old Senegalese street kid, robs her, she reluctantly agrees to take him in. They develop a deep bond and she tries to help him find his way in life.
Mank – (Available on Netflix) In 1940, Film studio RKO hires 24-year-old wunderkind Orson Welles under a contract that gives him full creative control of his movies. For his first film, he calls in washed-up alcoholic Herman J Mankiewicz to write the screenplay. That film is "Citizen Kane," and this is the story of how it was written.
