Explore the many highlights of the Cathedral’s history, architecture, and artwork, from the Great Bronze Doors to the Seven Chapels of the Tongues. The Cathedral of St. John the Divine is the cathedral of the Episcopal Diocese of New York. Although construction began in 1892, it is still incomplete. Yet it is still the world's sixth-largest church by area and either the largest or second-largest Anglican cathedral. The design began in Byzantine and Romanesque Revival styles but in 1909, the plan was changed to Gothic Revival. The floor area is 121,000 square feet and the roof height of the nave is 177 feet. You are sure to enjoy this historic site.
After the one-hour tour, we have a 12:30 reservation for a delicious 3 course Italian lunch at V&T restaurant, just across the street.
