The Navigator Program: A Community-Based Service for Caregivers of Individuals with Dementia

Kathleen Benevento, Executive Director of Navigation at Waveny LifeCare Network, is a NIDE Certified Dementia Professional.  Kathleen will discuss the Navigator Program, a free 24/7 support and guidance to New Canaan families caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia.  This discussion will focus on an overview of dementia and the recent expansion of the Navigator Program, a review of the comprehensive services offered through the Navigator Program including a new Adult Day Program, identifying who benefits from and qualifies for the Navigator Program, and information on local caregiver support groups open to the community.
