Without a doubt, the most underrated museum in Connecticut! It ’s like walking into an art textbook, with amazing decorative arts abounding on the side - Trip Advisor.
Hill-Stead is considered “perhaps the finest Colonial Revival house and museum in the United States” (National Historic Landmark Report) and houses some of the most important Impressionist paintings in the world, including works by Mary Cassatt, Edgar Degas, Édouard Manet, Claude Monet, and James McNeill Whistler.
Cost of tour is $22 per person.
The museum is approximately one hour and a half from New Canaan by car. There will be an optional lunch afterwards, to be paid separately at Wood-n-Tap restaurant in Farmington.
