If you enjoy going to the movies and love an opportunity to discuss the movie with other movie enthusiasts, then you should consider joining Critics’ Corner. We meet at a member’s house. After socializing over appetizers and some drinks, we then discuss and rate the two movies, which we will have already seen on our own. Each attendee pays $5 to cover the cost of the drinks and brings either an appetizer or dessert.
The next Critics Corner meeting will be on Friday, June 4th, at 7:00 PM, at the home of Lois and Dick Sandberg. The meeting will be held outside on the patio, weather permitting. Otherwise, there will be a Zoom meeting. To attend you must complete the Encore Club Covid-19 Waiver. You can do this by clicking WAIVER.
The following movies will be discussed and then rated:
Nomadland – (Available on pay channels) A woman in her sixties who, after losing everything in the Great Recession, embarks on a journey through the American West, living as a van-dwelling modern-day nomad.
Minari – (Available on pay channels) Yearning to own a small patch of land, the ambitious Jacob Yi, relocates his Korean-American family from California to 1980s rural Arkansas, to start afresh and capture the elusive American Dream.
Wine and soft drinks will be provided. You may bring snacks for your personal consumption. Email Jeannette Glazer or call 203-966-2063 to participate or for more information.
